Korean Air to increase flights to Mainland China, Taiwan, and Japan

Korean Air has announced it will operate additional flights to Mainland China, Taiwan, and Japan to meet the recovering travel demand in the region.

After a four year hiatus due to the pandemic, the Seoul-based carrier announced plans to resume two routes to China - Seoul (Incheon)-Mudanjiang from October 22 and Busan-Qingdao on December 1. Korean Air stated it will operate five weekly flights between Incheon and Mudanjiang, and daily between Busan and Qingdao.

From October 27, Korean Air will relaunch flights between Incheon and Nagasaki during the winter season with four weekly flights. The airline last operated flights on the route 11 years ago.

Increased Flights to Zhengzhou, Xiamen, Osaka, and Taichung

Since August 12, Korean Air increased its flights between Incheon and Zhengzhou from four weekly to daily flights. The airline will increase flights between Incheon and Xiamen from four weekly to daily starting October 1.

Between Incheon and Osaka, Korean Air will temporarily increase its flights between the two cities. Between September 2 and October 26, the airline will increase its flights on the route from three to four daily flights to accommodate the anticipated surge in autumn travel demand.

On the Incheon-Taichung, Taiwan route, Korean Air will operate four weekly flights between the two cities from September 10 to October 26. From October 27, the airline will further increase the flights on the route to daily.

According to Korean Air, the airline will operate at 95% of its pre-pandemic capacity (December 2019) to China. Services to Japan will reach 106% of pre-pandemic capacity.
